Is the following a true factor to being top in sales?

I think to be a great sales person you need to know your product inside out. You need to be able to answer all objections concerning your product. You need to know the proper steps to a close. But most important you must know how to prospect. Knowing all these things verbatim permits you to know how to touch the right buttons to close the sale. So what is left? The desire to do it all and reach the top…

I think you hit the nail on the head, you’re absolutely right in everything you say but I can go one further: Not only should you know your product inside and out so you can answer questions about it but you should also sell a product that you believe in.

For example, I can sell beer and answer questions about hopps, barley and yeast, but I don’t like beer. However I love milk and if I were trying to sell milk I believe that my love for milk would emit as passion and belief in my product. Beer and milk are silly examples but the point is the same regardless of the product.

When a salesman not only knows his or her product but believes in it, that belief is a reassurance to the potential buyer, and perhaps what will convince them to close the sale, not the door.

For Sales Professionals or Managers: How to Handle This Objection?

I’d like an answer from those experienced in sales.

I’ve gone through my presentation and I’ve been met with a financial objection. I ask people: "So, you like the package, but you don’t like the price?" (I’m saving my best great offer for last). They say yes.

I ask them: "If I can make this offer perfect for you, would you do business with us today?"

This question is basically "yes" or "no," but they’ll often respond by saying: "Well, what exactly is the offer"? That MIGHT be a buying signal, but it’s often another stall, where they figure they’re one step closer to giving a polite "no." I want a boxed-in committment that if the offer is great, they’ll take it.

Would you give them the offer right then, or repeat the question saying you need a "yes" or a "no" (or how would you handle it)? I’m doing phone sales, BTW.

Please respond – serious answers only, please – thanks!

keep going. if possible, break your answer down to $ per week or month or day or even year and relate to a common item. i.e. rent/house note/electricity/water bill/food/etc do benefit vs cost on whatever time frame you choose. good luck.

Is there any application for training sales people to better sell and sell more?

Hi,

I have been training and managing sales people, and I was wondering whether there is any PC or web applications enabling to train sellers.

For instance, a software application would reproduce a sales environment when a seller is doing a cold call with a potential client (objective of the call: raise interest and possibly organize a meeting), or when the seller is having a meeting with the purchaser (objective: tackle with the objections and go to the next steps, etc.), etc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,

Phil

It would be great if there were such an application, a bit like a computer game, except aimed at real life selling situations. Sadly as yet there is not one.

In the mean time, this website should give you a few new ideas to try out on your sales people.

I worked in sales for Xerox, and Kodak for 20 years, so I know a good website when I see one. *Smile*
