what should i do with my ideas?
I work for a large corporation at the bottom of the ladder. I have worked in this position and have not tried to move up the ladder. I have several ideas that could be worth tens of thousands (or more) in potential revenue. What advice would you have for me to progress with these ideas. Should I present them to my immediate supervisor or try bring them to someone near the top? I have some college education in business administration and have never applied for a position to utilize my skills and I was thinking that maybe I could get a better higher paying job with my employer if I can demonstrate my value in a better position with my ideas for making the corporation more profitable while creating value for our customers.
I would make an appointment with the president of the company, or the decision maker. I would also have my idea notorized by a lawyer and dated so that if they implement your idea you can claim the reward, and they can not say- they thought of that already. That happened with my dad on his second job, as a janitor- he submitted an idea to save money- they did it, then said they were going to do that anyway, so they did not pay him for his idea like they said they would.
Take the idea, and give them an ROI. Return on investment, with charts and graphs and time frames. You will also be dressed for success when you have your meeting, and thus creat value as an employee, maybe even a promotion.
Good luck- if they don’t like your ROI, take it to another similar company. The competition.
